Hey SW,
Having just seen this reference to Howies it suddenly struck me that it may have slipped under your radar that the Giles's have Howie ancestors. According to Grandfather the Howies are a sept of the McDonalds (hence the McDonald connection) and both his and Grandmother's family had some Howies in the family tree
